 BIOGRAFIA
:
Marco Castelli nasce a Milano il 29 febbraio 1972, bassista,
polistrumentista, compositore e arrangiatore.
Inizia gli studi di pianoforte e chitarra classica all'età
di 6 anni, a 13 anni fa per sbaglio il suo primo concerto da
bassista, perché nel gruppo di suo fratello maggiore
il bass player si era infortunato; da quel giorno decide che
il basso sarà il suo strumento per la vita e questa simbiosi
lo porta a specializzarsi con anni di studi delle svariate tecniche
all'uso di bassi 4, 5, 6 corde (fretted e fretless).
Ha suonato con Wisdom
(tour a Los Angeles 1991), Tancredi Palamara, Legend (open air
in Germania, Francia e Svizzera spalla a Glenn Hughes (ex Deep
Purple), Tomato (Giorgio Vanni), Biagio Antonacci, Ramon Rossi,
Jo Squillo (tour 93/94), Polsi Sciolti (finalisti miglior band
italiana a Budokan in Giappone), Leano Morelli, Linea 5, Dik-Dik,
Luigi Schiavone (Ruggeri), Corda Tesa, Cardio, Meccano (2°
e 3° posto a San Remo Big, consecutivi), il maestro Umberto
Iervolino, Vantage (disco nel '87 con etichetta Ebony records),
i Mucianga, Giovanni Giorgi, Gipsy Drom (con 2 ex chitarre dei
Gipsy King), Fabio Casali, Village Metropolitan Band.
Nel '94 forma una
band : i Farenaith con Gabriele Fersini (chitarrista di Ramazzotti,
L.Pausini e B.Antonacci) dove si esibiscono di spalla a diversi
artisti italiani.
Suona in diverse
formazioni Jazz Fusion con musicisti italiani e stranieri del
panorama Jazz.
Nel '96 forma un duo i 'round Midnight e gira l'Italia in concerti
di basso a 6 corde fretless e vibes con il vibrafonista jazz
Donato Scolese (Franco Battiato).
Lavora come turnista
in diversi studi di registrazione, nel 2001 registra i bassi
per il disco di Ker (Sony Music) entrato nelle chart in Olanda,
Spagna e Germania.
Partecipa a diverse
trasmissioni tv : FestivalBar, Cantagiro… cosicché
decide di avventurarsi come compositore, musicista, arrangiatore
e produttore artistico nel suo primo album solista strumentale
dove il basso fa da padrone come si denota dal titolo "Basso
Continuo" dove suona tutti gli strumenti nei 9 brani
contenuti!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
eccetto le percussioni (piccola postilla).
Nel 2003 ha registrato
l'album "Io non ci sto" dei "BOOM!!!",
etichetta Metalmaster, dove oltre a suonare il basso e le tastiere,
ha collaborato alla composizione dei testi e delle musiche,
investendo anche il ruolo di arrangiatore di tutti i brani.
Ha di recente terminato una raccolta di cover esclusivamente
suonate solo con il basso dal titolo "The new standards".
Ora sta promovendo i suoi cd con la sua band "Marco Castelli
& Tomo Globo" on the road. E' inoltre impegnato nella
realizzazione del suo prossimo cd "Anima",
che vedrà la collaborazione dei più famosi musicisti
del panorama italiano.

 BIOGRAPHY
Marco Castelli was born in Milano on the 29 February, principally
a bass player, he also plays many other instruments, is also
a composer and arranger.
He began to study the piano and classical guitar at the age
of six, he took part in his first concert at the age of thirteen,
when he stood in for the bass player, in his brother's band,
who had had an accident.
From that day he decided that bass was going to be his instrument
for life.
This symbiosis led to years of study in which he specialized
in 4, 5 and 6 strings bass techniques both fretted and fretless.
He has played with
Wisdom (Los Angeles tour 1991), Tancredi Palamara, Legend (Open
air concert in Germany, France and Switzerland, supporting Glenn
Hughes - ex Deep Purple), Tomato (Giorgio Vanni), Biagio Antonacci,
Ramon Rossi, Joe Squillo ( '93 '94 Tour), Polsi Sciolti (finalist
as best Italian band in Budokan Japan), Leano Morelli, Linea
5, Dik Dik, Luigi Schiavone (Ruggeri), Corda Tesa, Cardio, Meccano
(placed 2nd and 3th 2 consecutive year in the big category at
the San Remo festival), the great Umberto Iervolino, Vantage
(who recorded with ebony records in 1997), I Mucianga, Giovanni
Giorgi, Gipsy Drom (with two ex guitarists of the Gipsy Kings),
Fabio Casali, Village Metropolitan Band.
In 1994 he formed
a band : the Farenaith with Gabriele Fersini (guitarist with
Ramazzotti, L.Pausini, B.Antonacci) and supported various italian
artists.
He played in several
jazz fusion line-ups, with both Italian and international jazz
musicians. In 1996 he formed a duo the "Round Midnight
and they toured Italy giving concert on a 6 string fretless
bass with vibes the jazz vibraphonist Donato Scolese (Battiato
band)
He worked as session
musicians for different recording studios, in 2001 he played
bass on the Ker records (Sony music) which entered the charts
in Holland, Spain and Germany.
He took part in many TV shows, Festivalbar, Cantagiro; after
this experencies he decided to try his hand at being the composer,
musician, arranger and artistic producer of his first solo instrumental
album, where the bass takes pride of place, as can be expected
from the title Basso Continuo and he plays all the instruments,
except percussion on all the nine pieces.
Recently he has recorded
an album "Io non ci sto" with the "BOOM",
Metalmaster label, where he played the bass and the keyboards,
collaborating to the texts and music composition, besides that
he arranged all the tracks.
Recently he has completed a collection of cover played only
with the bass, titled "The New Standards",
now he is promoting his CD with his band "Marco Castelli
&Tomo Globo" on the road. Therefore he his involved
in a new project, the realization of the new CD "ANIMA",
to which will contribute many famous Italian musicians.
